2022 VENTURA COUNTY FAIR

Red Door Vineyard has entered five of our wines in the 2022 Ventura County Fair - a first for us!

Saturday morning, I visited the fairgrounds and dropped off the following wines: 2016 Red Blend; 2017 100% Estate Field Blend; 2016-17-18 Trinity; 2019 Churchwood; and 2018-19-20 Grace. We look forward to seeing what they think of our wines, and have high hopes for a ribbon or two!

The judges will use the American System of Judging:

Clarity 2 points
Color 2 points
Bouquet 4 points
Total acidity 1 point
Sweetness 1 point
Body/Texture 2 points
Flavor/Taste 2 points
Bitterness 1 point
Finish 1 point
Quality 4 points

Total Points 20 points

So if you plan to visit this year's Fair, please make sure to visit the Agriculture building and see how our wine fared. The Fair runs from August 3rd through August 14th. For more information visit https://venturacountyfair.org/fair/.

CHEERS!

Fairgrounds Entrance
Strange to see everything set up- rides, food stands, displays - with no one there!
Entrance to the Agriculture and Natural Resourced Building. Their motto: "If you eat food and wear clothes, you're involved with agriculture.
Setting up the Ag Hall for the fair.

Looking so official!
