Remembering 9/11 Day of Service
The recent Remembering 9/11 Day of Service that Women's Interfaith Network (WIN) held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church was especially touching as it was attended by many local high school students. They wrote thank-you cards to first responders and attached mini candy bars to their messages, which were delivered to fire stations in Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Oak Park and Agoura. Everyone reflected on the huge sacrifices of those who lost their lives on 9/11 and prayed for their families who still miss them. The students and additional volunteers of all ages and faiths also compiled over 80 lunch bags that included sandwiches, fruit, snacks and a beverage to help those experiencing food insecurity. The work was done in record time, as "many hands make light work." Every year this one-hour event gets bigger and better while helping build bridges in our community. See you next year!
