Interfaith Community Shelter & Harbor House
Harbor House hopes to contribute to the building of a just community where all people are included. It sees all human beings as worthy of its time and its efforts. It offers referrals, resources, case management, and a hand-up for those who are struggling. Its goal is to help all people in our community find hope, gainful employment, affordable housing, and a sense of personal well-being. The needs in our community are great and the gap between the comfortable and the working poor has never been so wide. Housing costs soar and minimum wage remains insignificant in the face of such costs, making it almost impossible for some families and individuals to make a real living.
Harbor House has been formed to address the needs of this community. The houses of faith guide Harbor House with wisdom. Local donations are used for local needs. It has a deep desire to serve the poor and knows them by name.
Due to COVID-19, the nightly meals program has been changed to a daily lunch program. The Church of the Epiphany provides brown bag lunches once a month to our friends at Habor House.
A brown bag lunch contains a sandwich (turkey, ham or other meat, or peanut butter and jelly), items like fruit, granola bars, beef jerky packs, chips, and cookies. Beverages (bottled water, sports drinks, and chocolate milk for children) are greatly appreciated, don't forget to keep the drinks separate from the food.
Drop off is from 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm. Pick-up for clients begins promptly at 4:30 pm, please let us know in advance if you are unable to make the drop-off times, we will arrange for someone to pick up your lunches and take them to the drop-off point for you.
