LECTORS/LAY READERS

Lay readers have a vitally important role in the leadership of our worship. They read the scripture lessons from the Old and New Testament and lead the weekly Intercessions. Lay readers serve at all Sunday morning services and special services during Christmas, Holy Week, and Easter.
Being a lay reader can be a great way to participate in leading worship for those who have limited time but who desire to make a contribution to our worship. Readings and prayers are sent out in advance so there is plenty of time to familiarize yourself with what you will be reading and develop an understanding of its meaning.
Please prayerfully consider whether you might be called to this ministry. New lay readers must undergo a training session before they are scheduled to read. If you are interested in becoming a lay reader, please contact Jay Wilcox at [email protected].
