Two EYG Members Close the Chapter on High School
Congratulations to our high school graduates Joseph Cooper (Thousand Oaks HS)
and Declan Roberts (River Oaks Academy)!
Joseph: While I am not 100% certain what I want to pursue as a career yet, I have some ideas. I have always had a brain for math and art, so I'm leaning toward studying something that involves both those subjects. Right now, I'm considering taking courses in graphic design and/or engineering. My biggest achievement in my high school years was definitely earning my Eagle, the highest rank someone can earn in Boy Scouts. The project was making a labyrinth for The Church of the Epiphany. This was perfect for me, as it required both an artistic eye and lots of geometry to make it correctly. During my senior year, I enrolled in 3 AP classes: AP Biology, AP Calculus, and AP Art, and I have taken the AP exam for each respective class, which will count as college credit. I will be attending Moorpark College before transferring after two years.
Declan: My main desire in life is to become a professional artist and animator. It has been my passion to be an artist ever since I was a child. I had always felt joy in putting pen to paper and creating something unique. I am exploring the post-high school, full-time program at Exceptional Minds that includes professional mentoring and apprenticeship, which can be beneficial in the long run when it comes to finding jobs. At this time, all the art and animation I do is either for fun or freelance work. I'm very glad to be graduating, and I hope that after this year, I'll be working toward having a profession that I love and that makes me happy.
