Parish Choir
The Parish Choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:45 to 9:15 p.m.
Anyone of high school age or older is welcome to join the Parish Choir. Singing is mentioned over 400 times in the Bible, and at least 50 of those are commands to sing to God. If that isn't enough motivation, consider that research has shown that singing in a choir has many benefits, musical, physical, social, mental, and spiritual!
To join our Parish Choir, you don’t need to be able to read music, and you don’t need to be able to sing like Pavarotti! You just need to enjoy singing, want to learn, and to become part of a group committed to serving the Epiphany community by enhancing our worship.
The Parish Choir sings at the majority of services each year. Additionally, they lead several Evensong services and Services of Contemplation and Prayer in the Style of Taizé. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:45 to 9:15 p.m., from September through May, although rehearsals may be extended to 9:30 p.m. as Christmas, Holy Week and Easter approach! Any special rehearsals will be announced well in advance. Rehearsals are not limited to the preparation of anthems and other music but include time to work on vocal technique and musical skills—and there is also a good deal of laughter. Rehearsals are followed by a time of fellowship.
